Please join me for a session dedicated to the topic:
Best way to handle components selection/removal in a project #466<https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/devtools/issues/466>
One of the challenges today is to automatically deselect "unnecessary" components as we do not capture whether a component is selected for use by the user's code or due to dependencies.

All,
As announced during last week's meeting the software framework example was relocated from the personal repository
https://github.com/RobertRostohar/AWS_MQTT_MutualAuth_Demo branch = test_rte (deleted now)
to https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/AWS_MQTT_MutualAuth_SW_Framework branch = main
Please use with cmsis-toolbox version 1.2.0.
There is a branch = test_gcc which currently only successfully builds for the target-type = WiFi
We currently face the following issues
a) Conflicting configfilenames for different compiler
b) DFPs without support for all three toolchains (assembler Device:Startup files: startup_<device>.[sS])
c) Components which are not supported by all toolchains (e.g. IO redirect)

Reinhard,
We had internally with the ST colleagues involved a discussion following your presentation "Generator Concept" https://github.com/open-cmsis-pack/devtools/blob/main/tools/projmgr/docs/Ma… during last week Open-CMSIS-Pack meeting.
We are not sure to fully understand all the aspects of your proposal including what problem you want to solve by introducing the *.genlayer.yml and the consequences of it. We need more time to further think to it and understand how it compares with existing github issues discussion also related to generators e.g. the latest inputs from Fred in issues #104<https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/issues/104>, #76<https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/issues/76> , etc. However, due to some internal milestone, we will be only able to start working on it beginning of October.
Regards,
Eric

Hi all,
Because of a clash with the Linaro LITE SC, I have changed the
Open-CMSIS-Pack call Zoom invite going forwards from tomorrow to a
different Zoom meeting ID. I appreciate that changes to the invite can be a
pain across calendar systems but there's unfortunately no choice in order
to resolve the conflict.
You should receive a meeting invite with the Zoom meeting ID below:
https://linaro-org.zoom.us/j/98302382714?pwd=SVdtS0ZGWlg1cXVBRU9JUkpNa21CUT…
Best regards

Joachim, Kyle and all,
Following last week discussion in the Open-CMSIS-Pack weekly related to:
“Note: Add and elements PR 147 ○ On hold until Decision Committee had corresponding issue to review (action Eric)”
I would like to try to bring some clarifications:
PR #147<https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/pull/147/files/28a9…> is related to the github issue #144<https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/issues/144>. The PR has been added to illustrate very concretely the issue #144 that has a rather large scope. There has been exchanges with Reinhard in PR#147 but not in the corresponding github issue #144 in particular from NXP side. We (ST) think the level of information bring jointly by the PR and the issue is pretty good and we reach a good level of agreement on the basis of Reinhard comment so if NXP do not see blocking reasons to extend the Open-CMSIS-pack spec in the direction, we propose to bring the github issue #144 to the agenda of the next CCB.
One additional comment related to the issue #120<https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/issues/120> vs the issue #144 and PR 147, even if there are related to connex subject it is two separated topics. I am going to add a post to the issue #120 but after additional internal discussion for a reason I will explain in the post we want to withdraw the proposal described in the issue #120 and close the issue
Regards,
Eric

Hi Joachim and all,
I am sorry I missed Open-CMSIS pack meeting last Tuesday. I watched the recording of the meeting and I noticed several points on ST side were mentioned so I would like to share an update before next week meetings on some of them.
* Issue #112<https://github.com/Open-CMSIS-Pack/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/issues/112>: there was a separated email thread on this topic but in a nutshell, Fred organized a ad-hoc meeting mid august with participants from NXP and ST, there was a slight misunderstanding on the next step after this meeting but it is now clarified and the proposal discussed during the meeting has been added to the issue #112
* "Compiler Agnostic Control", I close the loop with Tarek, he is going to resume working on it next week to finalize a proposal.
* Next week CCB. We have re-sync internally on the issue #95 and #134 on the agenda and post additional comment in these issues (Fred) so ST is ready to review them during the CCB. In a separate thread related to the GitHub issue #112, I understand that NXP is proposing to add it to next Monday CCB, ST is open to it.
Regards,
Eric
