A topic in the next meeting is that I will explain the top-level concept and give background why we constructed it this way.
This covers indirectly the questions that you are having.
The “lockfile” is IMHO exactly what we achieve with the *.cprj file. The *.cprj file contains all information that is needed to rebuild a project from a clean installation.
